A human-looking immortal who has been with humanity since the stone age Clifford Simak’s “Grotto of the Dancing Deer” A shape-shifting alien who can masquerade as a human but is different from humans on the cellular level John W. There is not too much complicated plot lines so again easy to read. The third strand is a running commentary, perhaps objective, about the world they survive in their separate ways.

How many people recommend it to friends as a great science-fiction book? Gerald Jonas of The New York Times Book Review said, “Haldeman handles this complicated scheme effortlessly, and the ending is satisfying whether or not you have figured out who is who. Still, the first half of the book is fairly entertaining, as we get to watch the “good” alien work its way, from the s to the early s, through the intricacies of being human.

SF : Camouflage / Joe Haldeman ☆☆☆
The story visits mostly briefly several bloodthirsty episodes from Earth’s history and includes a longer episode from World War 2 the general anti-war position probably results from Haldeman’s own experiences in Viet Nam and then moves on to a nicely-paced love story as hldeman end approaches – nicely paced for someone who doesn’t normally other with Romance or porn – this has just a hint of both, enough to add a trace of spice without getting it labelled as either Romance or Porn – nice balance!

But it can’t get close to it. This book deserves the Nebula. The author focuses most of the book on the “good,” which I found a nice choice, and it I willingly followed along as the creature became more and more human, finally learning something akin to love.
Focuses to the point that the evil one almost seems tacked on, and only appears a few times in the book, apparently just camouflagd remind cakouflage that he’s there, and he’s evil.
It falls in love with the scientist it planned to use. We’ll publish them on our site once we’ve reviewed them. Haldeman is in no way a sentimentalist, and the alien changeling is truly alien, killing ahldeman casually as someone would swat a fly; yet as it gradually learns about human society, so it starts to become the creatures that it mimics, and slowly but surely becomes more human, page by page, year by year. There Is No Darkness.

It is an entertaining story, and I read all the way to the end to find out what happened – but the characters are barely cardboard cutouts and it reads more like a screenplay.

He could also imitate the appearance of other species but not as easily as the Changeling. By something, Haldeman initially means people.
